The Dreaded Elderly Toenail

Well, this week I did them.
Mother keeps her feet in good condition so her's were easy.
I kept hoping my father would get it done by a doctor,
but a year had gone by.
After months of prodding him to get them done he finally
conceded they needed it.
I got together what I needed-
A container to soak foot in warm water to soften them.
A bottle of peroxide to disinfect.
High caliper clippers with non-slip grips.
A mask.

And I did it.
Thank goodness it wasn't too bad, I mean it was gross but
I had picked up a few masks at a Dr's office,
so glad I did.
I am extremely sensitive to odors and this did the trick.
I forgot to, but putting a swipe of Vicks vapo-rub onto
a mask works too.

What we have to look forward to....poor people...I remember my grandmother in the nursing home....she had a stroke and couldn't talk but just a few words....she pointed to my fingernails and managed, "pretty". I asked her if she would like for me to come and paint her nails. She died before I ever took the time to do it for her. You are sure good to your parents!
