I Care

I am empathetic towards my parent's "predicament" of mental decline.
 I will be resentful at times, and fearful the next, but if I let myself be
honest with myself for just one second I will admit I love these two people....
Hard to do, to admit love for two screwed up abusers-
But I feel compassion about their confusion.

Well, I wasn't able to get a cable trap.
So I found a white plastic box and told her that it was what she was seeing down there, and that she has it now.

I felt really badly for her the other evening. She was suffering from sundowning again, and came over.
I had her sit on the couch with me and told her my stuffed hello kitty wanted to give her a hug. She was a little alarmed at first as I put it's arms around her neck, but then settled in and hugged it back. Her face full of confusion and worry....
We talked alittle while about what a great day she had (and forgotten),
and after she calmed a bit I went over and started dinner for her.
She has been fine since, I think I just have to take her out after lunch, so that she doesn't nap and wake up at 4.
I have been taking her for a walk from 2- 3 or 4 which works better.
