Crafts here we made a bunny
from a child tube sock,
rice and stuffing.
I was surprised she wanted to keep it so
badly-she really thought it was cute!

Walking Mother
Warm weather has come so I dragged mother out for a walk that I knew she would like once she was out. We went for a very long walk and then sat in the grass on a hillside. I encourage her to do this to keep her in shape, along with picking up sticks and tossing them. Another thing she enjoys is using a stick to whack dandelion seed heads. Then with a good hold on her arm, we hiked the steep hillside, taking breaks along the way. Resting on benches once ontop, we made our way back home.
Needless to say, I was completely exhausted and she was completely unaware of being tired.
She called me two hours later wanting to go for a walk.
Alzheimer's sucks.
She forgot the whole day.

Alz Like ADD
I spent a while sitting and sewing at my mother's the other day.
I noticed how she would move from one distraction to the next.
I had fixed her lunch and she would recognize that, then go check the damp laundry hanging, then go check something else, not focusing on one thing.
It is like the ultimate case of Attention Deficit Disorder.
It really makes me think this is what she does all night and why she is always tired in the morning. I do recall she said that she goes into her bedroom at night to go to bed and ends up finding things to do. She repeatedly says her bedroom doesn't feel like a bedroom- I have no idea what she means!

Power to the Child
Well, my sister and I discussed it and we decided "One drink or None" and to stick to our guns about it.
She told father this before they left, and he said he was embarrassed and agreed.
She told the waitress "one Merlot with the food" and the night went smoothly. He was able to walk to the car & room. Such a relief for her and myself.

Holy Crap
So, on tuesday my sis took father to dinner.
I get a text from her saying he's "sh*t faced" from three glasses of wine."
The next day I find out that she had to ask for a wheelchair to get him back into his room- omg!
Well, today I find out that he has been puking all week and fell out of bed, puked his bed up,room, clothes, and bathroom. I mean wow. The manager told me he is not to drink and have this happen or they will get in trouble.
Dam, why wasnt my sister here to be told this-she's the one that let it happen.
I heard the staff (not knowing who I was) complaining about having to clean up after him & change his bed again- this is friday! how many times have they?!
Holy Crap!
I was a nervous wreck visiting him after being told all this and practically hyperventilated driving to the diner. I kept reiterating what they said and he just kept saying that it was because of three. I said to the waitress "He'll have ONE or NONE". He had ginger ale and two bites of pancake saying he felt like it was going to come up ( which he later denied)
I told him in the car that I was SO relieved he had nothing to drink & isn't it better that he can walk in by himself? He apologized.
I know all will be forgotten next week.
