When I was at mom's memory care place I witnessed first hand what
they do when someone passes away.
Usually the person is transported out a side entrance and secretly
whisked away leaving people to wonder what happened...
Not here.
Here they sound a bell over the intercom
and everyone stops what they were doing.
They then line the passageway from where the person passed
all the way to the front door.
All the staff, even the kitchen. It can be quite a ways.
They stand quietly and wait..............
The deceased person is then wheeled by, covered by a quilt......
followed by family if they are there.
Then the line closes behind them and
everyone follows the procession to the front door exit
to the waiting vehicle.
I was amazed.
I have never ever seen the dead honored
this way except veterans.
