Bad Night

Today was a bad day after a bad night for my mother.
Last night I was awakened by my cell phone at two AM.
I was too confused and couldn't see to answer or even find the phone.
This morning I saw it was "mom".
holy shit she was up all night!
Nine AM she was up and I went over to make sure she had breakfast.
She had thrown away chicken I had cooked for her, burnt carrots in the sink, banana and
tv dinner eaten.
She said the clocks didn't make sense last night and she thought it was daytime.
She also alluded that she hadn't recognized where she was
& thought she had stayed at another house last night.
 And that she had been hungry(!)
I went over several times today to make her lunch,
 go for a walk and feed the birds, and then to make her dinner.
She was concerned all day about her memory loss and kept calling
to ask if I had been here and what we had done.
I am exhausted and really hope this was just a bump in the road.
The office of people to help was closed today and frankly I dont think I
would have made any sense.
I got a call from the VA but person hung up & I dont even know who it was or what it was about!!
