My mother is displaying a very interesting change in her perception of time.
It has gone back to the way time felt as a kid!
A day feels like a week
a week feels like a month
a month feels like a year.
The past few days each time she has referred to something a week long or a week ago it was actually a day. We go to the bank once a month, she said it feels like the last time was a year ago.
Wow this is amazing!
I always have been aware of how my perception of time was SO slow as a kid, then squashed and fast now.
With dementia it slows down again.
No wonder she is bored all the time- just like a kid!

Hate to say it but sooner or later she will stay in the past mostly..at least my gramma did. She thought she was dealing with her own kids and it was her grandkids etc.She called us by their names and wondered when her husband was coming home. They begin to be in their own little world and only come back once in a while to reality. It then scares them a little to see how time has passed. Gramma didnt like it much..she preferred to be in a more carefree time. Cherish the time she KNOWS you and where she is. : )
I'm amazed to read this. I have also noticed it in my mother.
