Seeing Things Not There

The past couple of days my mother has been obsessed with watching
out her big window. She pulled up her poang chair and refused to get up,
instead calling me over to confirm what she was seeing.
"Come here! Look! Can you see them? "
Children and people getting into cars -
There! See? can you see them?! "
Ok, here's the thing...
She was looking at the sky and trees....
no clouds....
Oh dear.
It took some convincing to get her away from the window,
she got ticked when i put the blinds down and opened them-
I figured it would "break up" the visions.
It worked.
But with every predictable stage or event it gets harder
because I get more scared....
Now she wont bathe herself and each shower I give
her i wonder if it will be the last.

Oh dear,I have been in your shoes, watch that she does not try to GO OUTSIDE and be WITH those she "SEES". That is what my gram did and it was sooo scary. We had to fix doors so she could not get out in the middle of the night. Sometimes they relive their childhood and it can be pitch dark and they think it is daytime. This is so hard to deal with. I feel for you and think you are doing a wonderful job with her. My Gram would look into the mirror in the bathroom and get really upset because in her mind she thought she was young. Depression would set in easy. I am glad you have others to consult on what to do next. TAKE care of you too...
