I have been sick for a couple weeks I think.
Not wanting my parents to get ill I have been avoiding too much contact. I still have a cough but do not feel I am contagious anymore so I visited mom for an extended time yesterday (1 hour) until I was exhausted & had to return home.
During this time I played the card game 'Go Fish' with mom.
Unfortunately without short term memory she kept asking
for the same card over & over even though she had a handful of cards.
"Do you have any Jacks?"
I patiently gave her many turns and re-instruction
and it was fun, but I had to go home to bed after.

Many blessings to you as you care for your parents. It's got to be so difficult especially when you are tired.
My parents always thought I was being cold and distant whenever I would stay away from them when I was sick. Now, my mother thinks I'm just a hateful daughter who tells her what to do all the time...oh, the role reversal blues! Get well soon!
J..got to the dollar store and get the kids version of go fish. The cards are cheap and more simple and she could probably do that much easier if she doesn't get offended with it being such a kids thing. I played them with my mom and it worked fine. Just a suggestion...hope it works.
