I read this in a book

Where the daughter was cleaning out her mothers home after she had passed away.

.

"I found myself for a split second expecting the phone to ring. Then I remembered.
Even if phones existed where she was now, I wasnt sure she would have called.
My mother had always been too tangled up with the dead to pay proper attention to
the living.
Reunited with them at last,
she wouldnt be thinking of me.

You sound a bit lost now that your mother is gone. My mom cared for my terminally ill little brother for a long time and after he passed she said she felt she was missing her right arm. Could joining a grief group help I wonder? Hugs!

When my parents passed, I thought of them a zillion times a week. I would sometimes go to the phone to call them..stopping as I reached for the phone.
