ALZ Changing Communication

I have found myself adapting to the slow but progressive changes in my mother's communicating. Lost words have to be met with an attitude of patience and helpful suggestions or offering for her to at least tell me the subject of what she is trying to get at. Touching myself or her when asking about hearing aids, glasses, keys, wallet to help enforce the oral question. A lot of times she confuses the heck out of me with her mixing together places she has lived- asking me to unravel the memories for her. It is at these times and her times of acute agitation I have to keep my own brain from drowning in the twirling waters of alzheimer disease. Good article about this= http://www.alz.org/care/dementia-communication-tips.asp
